TWIF is the international umbrella Tug of war Federation which governs, represents, organises and develops the sport globally. TWIF has 73 member countries and are affiliated to the IWGA (International World Games Association) and ARISF (Association of IOC Recognised International Sport Federations). Through the IWGA, Tug of War is one of the sporting codes on the World Games programme.
We work with a structure with an Executive with 5 members and several committees, like the Technical & Athletes Commission, PR Commission, Appeal Commission and Anti-Doping Commission.
We have a standard of international rules and these rules are mandatory and used at all international events that are organized by or in co-operation with TWIF. Most of the countries follow these rules as well in their own national Federations.
We are an amateur Sports Federation.
