It is one of the oldest and most widespread sports games in many European regions: there are various denominations with which it is indicated: lippa, battonet , ciaramela , s’ cianco , pettias and carricias , mazza and piso , nizza and many others.
It is played outdoors, in large and flat spaces, both individually and in teams.
The tools are: a stick of cm. 50 (club) and a stick of cm. 18 tapered at the ends (lippa).
The game consists in hitting with the bat the lippa placed on the ground to catapult it up and be able to hit it again to throw it as far as possible. The total score is determined by the sum of the distances reached according to the predetermined number of strokes.
