Allow me to introduce you to International Dance Organization (IDO):
IDO was founded in September 18, 1981, as a non-profit organization, registered under Danish law, limited liability where the head office is located.
The IDO is a World Dance- and Dancesport Federation with a membership of over 90 nations, representing more than 250,000 dancers, from six continents.
More than 25.000 licensed competitors competed in 2016, at more than 100 IDO championships, cups and festivals world-wide. About 200.000 dancers compete at national level to qualify for IDO events. These numbers are increasing each year.
We are the official World Body in the three Dance Departments of (1) Performing Arts, (2) Street dance and (3) Couple Dances, granting World and Continental Championships and Cups around the world of dance. For details see www.ido-dance.com.
IDO holds Dance Committees in all dance disciplines, where the experts discuss and decide how to keep the rules and discipline up to date and to ensure that they are kept on a high level.
Since 2014 IDO is member of TAFISA. We respect clean sport (Anti-doping rules and regulations have been implemented in 2015) and fair play (members of the EFPM).
One of our main disciplines, HipHop, Jazz, Modern&Contemporary, Disco dance and Show dance, are open for people with intellectual and physical disabilities and those without since many years. We are promoting equal opportunities for all categories, dancing in the same event. HipHop is THE dance of the youth all around the world.
On a national and international level we support many Sport for all events in the form of dance festivals.
